The Studio
Our 70 square metre live room with 5 metre ceiling apex has been purpose built for a large natural room ambiance that is lacking in most smaller studios these days. We have modular acoustic treatment and gobos that can be removed or added to surfaces and reflection points to customise the amount of room sound for any live recording. Full soundproofing allows us to record amps at full volume.
There are also smaller areas in the live room that can be cordoned off with gobos to create a tight, dead drum sound.
The light filled comfortable 25m2 control room has perfect line of sight to the live room and vocal booth. The handpicked outboard gear and microphones are a perfect match for any audio project. Please see our “Gear” section for a full list.
The Property
Old North Studios is situated on 4 acres of private parklike countryside in Kumeu, the North West of Auckland.
The property can be walked around while taking a break from a session, with many idyllic areas to sit and relax or have lunch in the shade. Making it a perfect relaxing atmosphere to be creative.
We are only 25 mins drive from Auckland CBD and 5 mins to all amenities in Kumeū and Huapai townships.
